Utility Billing Policies


The City of Kuna ’s Utility office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00 pm and provides billing services for water, sewer and trash collection.  Utility accounts may be listed in one name only and the person whose name appears on the account is responsible for payment of bills, deposits and other charges that may appear on the bill.  (The City is not responsible for agreements made between landlords and renters or roommates). 

Meters:
Meters are the property of the City of Kuna and are not to be turned on or off except by authorized city employees.  Unauthorized connection of a meter is illegal under state law.  The city has the right of access to meters whenever necessary.

 

Deposit Required:

Applicants desiring water and/or sewer service must pay a $100 deposit refundable after the applicant has had a satisfactory payment record with the city for the last twelve (12) consecutive months in which the account was in effect.  A “satisfactory payment record” is defined as one in which all payments were made on or before the date due for all accounts in effect during the aforementioned twelve (12) months.  An applicant having had one or more accounts with the city  within the past two (2) years for utility service in his own name with a satisfactory payment record for the last twelve (12) months such accounts were in effect may be exempt from the deposit requirements stated above.

Deposits will be held by the city until the payee requests discontinuation of water service or until the payee has attained a “satisfactory payment record.”  Deposit refunds will be in the form of a credit to the account of the payee or, in the case of discontinuation of service, a cash refund in the deposit amount less any outstanding account balance.

 

Non-Pay Terminations:
Services disconnected for non-payment will not be restored until all past due balances, along with a reconnect fee, have been paid.

 

Payments:
Customers have 15 days from the date the bill is mailed to make payment.  Our office must receive the payment by the due date to avoid an additional fee.  Credit card payments may be made online, or by calling 208-922-5546-ePAY.  You can also pay in person at City Hall located at 763 W. Avalon and after 5:00 pm, payments may be deposited in our night deposit box with a red top located in our drive through facility under the awning.  Payments may also be made by mail in the envelope provided with your bill statement. However, mailed payments must reach the City by 5:00 pm on the date due; we do not go by postmark date.  All payments should show your account number.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS  (Available Now)

The City of Kuna allows credit card payments over the counter, by telephone (208) 922-5546 and through its website by adults 18 years of age or older for Internet-enabled City services and programs.  The City reserves the right to refuse service, terminate or suspend accounts or service or cancel transactions at any time.

Completion of a payment transaction is contingent upon both the authorization of payment by the applicable credit card company and acceptance of payment by the City.  In the event that your credit card payment is unable to be processed, the City will attempt to notify you using the contact information you have provided.  In any event, you remain solely responsible for payments due.

eBill:     (Available Now)    

Customers can choose to go paperless!  After your new bill is calculated each month, the eBilling/ePay web site will send you an email notification alerting you that your bill information is available online.   The email contains a link to the eBilling/ePay web site, making it easy to access your bill online.  You can go to our web site and click on the eBilling link to create a user profile and begin receiving your bills electronically.  You will need your most recent utility bill for each utility account that you want to receive eBills for.

 

REFUND POLICY  

The City of Kuna does not refund any electronic payments.  

 

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE:   YOU CAN PAY YOUR IRRIGATION ONLINE ALSO. JUST LOGIN AS YOU WOULD PAY YOUR UTILITY BILL, AND ADD THE IRRIGATION ACCOUNT NUMBER TO YOUR REGISTRATION. YOU CAN ALSO USE EXPRESS PAY (NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED).   JUST NEED THE ACCOUNT NUMBER (NO DECIMAL) AND THE FIRST FOUR CHARACTERS OF THE NAME (LAST NAME IS FIRST) ON THE IRRIGATION BILLING STATEMENT.
